August - 28 Years and 4 Months

Can you believe this guy is 4 months old?

Or this girl is 28 years old?!
(That is way to close to 30, by the way.)

Cade had his 4 month doctor appointment and he is growing so fast!
Weight: 16 lbs 14 oz (84th percentile)
Height: 26 inches (84th percentile)
Head Circumference: 17 inches (74th percentile)

The doctor said he is doing great and everything looks wonderful.  He can hold his head up pretty well when he is on his stomach.  He sleeps pretty well - at night, not so great at napping though.  He eats 5 times a day (7am, 12pm, 4pm, 7:30pm, 11pm).  I wake him up to feed him at 11pm so that he will sleep until the morning.  He laughs and smiles when someone talks to him.  He reaches up and tries to grab toys when you shake them in front of him.  He is so much fun!

He did have to get shots, which was not as much fun.  Here is a picture before the shots - he had no idea what was coming!

The last weekend in August, we went to Charlotte with friends, and they made it a wonderful birthday for me.

For my birthday, Bryan decided to run a triathlon.  Boo.

But he made it up to me by taking me to Carowinds!!  Emi and Devin came and we had a blast riding every rollar coaster.  I loved every minute of it and Bryan was miserable all day but he survived!

I did miss these two cuties while we were gone.

Aunt Debbie, Claude, and Hannah came down for a week of vacation, and Callie made a new friend.  She was excited to meet a dog that was small enough for her to pick up and carry around with her.

We made one last trip to the beach. Sad day!  Summer, please hurry and come back!

Cade's Dedication

On Sunday, August 11, 2013 we dedicated Cade to the Lord.  It was such a great service and it meant a lot to us to have so many friends and family be able to attend.

Big sister sat through the whole service (with some entertainment help from the phone).

Bryan read to everyone there with us a few things that we had written about how we want to train up Cade.  (It is written out below.)

And of course, we got all of the family pictures.
The Cokers...

The great-grandparents...

The Cranstons...

Aunt Debbie...

My sisters...

And our friends...

Thank you all for coming and supporting us in dedicating Cade!

"We want Cade to be a man after God's own heart who is in constant pursuit of his relationship with Christ.  We want him to understand the power and the authority he has over evil because of what Jesus did for him on the cross.  We want Cade to stand up for what he knows is right, but what his Heavenly Father has told him is right.  We want him to be a man that will step up and lead his family when that time comes, being the husband and father that God has called him to be, so that one day he can say with confidence 'As for me and my house we will serve the Lord'.  We want Cade to honor his father and mother and love his sister.  We want him to be confident in who he is in Christ and not be pressured by the world to waver from the straight and narrow path."

We love you, Cade!
