Something New Every Day

Callie is growing up so fast - I literally feel like she can do something new every day.  She is full of new tricks...

...like high fives

...telling everyone how big she is (and how pretty)

...and learning to walk!

She still loves to play with Bear...

Be silly with Daddy and her aunts...

Have beautiful smiles and crazy hair...

Hang out in her float in the pool...

And play with every toy that makes noise...

Callie and PawPaw are ready for football season - 3 more months!

Lovin Bear

Bear is the best dog in the world.  Callie loves to pat him and lay on him and he doesn't even move!

Here are a few other thoughts for the week:

I am very thankful that she still loves to play in the "octopus".  It gives me a moment where I don't have to wonder where she crawling and what she is getting in to!

Callie loves to be outside and I am very grateful that we have graduated to a much smaller stroller.  (Although you do have to lean over to reach the handles, but thats ok).

Callie and I ventured out to the pool by ourselves last week.  We had a fun hour of playing in the pool and then Daddy came to join us and we took her around the lazy river.  The waterfall didn't even phase her!

In keeping with her love of the water, Callie loves bath time and cries when it is time to get out.  As soon as she gets in the tub she looks all around until she finds her ducks and then plays and splashes!

Her latest accomplishment is to give a high five!  Still working on getting her to blow kisses...

New "Tricks"

When Callie was a few months old, one of Bryan's friends asked, "Can she do any tricks?"  Well, now she can!  Callie laughs whenever you play peek-a-boo and she is starting to figure it out...

I have been trying to teach her where her nose, eyes, mouth, and ears are so she will point to them.  Well, none of that has happened yet - but she knows where her hairbow goes!

9/10 Month Old Pictures

Here are a few pictures of Callie at almost 10 months old.  Thanks to Auntie Em for taking pictures and catching some of her funny expressions on camera!

A Week in the Life of Callie

Just in case you are wondering what Callie does all week...

We go to the pool... a lot.  Callie loves the water.  As soon as we get there she starts kicking her legs and reaching for the water.  She won't even let me sit on the chair for a few minutes!  She just smiles and laughs the whole time she is in the pool.  These pictures are from a random afternoon trip to Hampton Lake with Auntie Em and Bryan had a little break at work and got to come join us.

Before Emi went to Africa, we went to the pool at the Yacht Club and Callie got to play in the baby pool.  She was laughing so hard it was hilarious!

We also go to the beach... a lot.  Bryan is very into kiteboarding right now so every free moment we have I feel like we are packing up and going to the island.  Callie does love the sand and the ocean, but it is a lot of work for a short 2 hours of fun.  Totally worth it though!

Besides our many trips to the pool and the beach, we still have a few things resembling normal in our life. Like crazy hair do's...

Being cute and silly on the couch...

Laughing and playing at church...

Going for walks around the neighborhood and sometimes to the park...

And going out to eat with Mama D...

Callie is eating all "cut up" food now - no more pureed food!  While it takes a lot less time for me to prepare it, it takes a long time for her to eat it.  She can pick the food up but some of it ends up in her highchair and on the floor - but that is to be expected.  She loves cheese toast.  In this picture, she had peas, watermelon, and cheese toast.  She ate all of the toast before even touching anything else!

On The Move

It's official - Callie is on the move!  She is getting to be an expert at crawling and she is into everything.  She is very interested in little details - not big pieces of furniture, but the buttons on the DVD player, the electrical outlets, and the handles on my dresser.  I will have to baby-proof the house pretty soon!

I usually sit Callie near her basket of toys in the living room, and she can make it all the way to the kitchen to find me.  It takes a while, but she gets there!  Here she is coming around the corner to the kitchen...

And I love this picture with Bear just hanging out beside her...

Atlanta Trip

Mama D, Callie, and I took a road trip to Atlanta to see Aunt Lauren.  We were originally going to see Mama Betty, but after she had been sick we had to make a change of plans.  We still got to see Mama Gerry and Grandad, but we missed Mama Betty!  We will go again this summer to see her.  :)

We stayed at a very nice hotel near Lauren's apartment and had a great view!

Callie wasn't feeling great - she had a little bit of a cold - but she was a trooper!  She is the best. ;)

We went out to eat at delicious Buckhead restaurants (which made me realize how much we are missing out on in Bluffton), did lots of shopping, and ate frozen yogurt every day!  Also, Callie loves lemons and ate them everywhere we went.

On Saturday, we met Mama Gerry and Grandad at the park so they could see Callie.  She had a little picnic lunch, and then had a great surprise - her very own "Mama Betty Quilt"!  It matches her room and is so perfect for her!

After a long and busy day, we went back to the hotel and Callie had a bath in the huge jacuzzi tub and loved it.  Lauren practically had to get in the tub with her - it was so big I could hardly reach her!

We had a great weekend and are so glad that we got to see Aunt Lauren, Mama Gerry, and Grandad.  Can't wait to see them again soon!
