March Madness

I can NOT believe that March is over already!  We squeezed a lot of things into March and it went by way too fast.  The Coker's hosted the annual Coker Golf Tournament in Hartsville and Bryan and Callie were able to go.  Callie Grace got to spend some time with her grandparents and Aunt Jamie...

We moved Callie to a "big girl bed" - she is growing up too fast!

The first night we put her in the new bed, she had a big fall off of the end of the bed.  As awful as it was for Bryan and I, she learned not to go near the edge.  She hasn't tried to get near it again and has no problem staying in the bed.  She really doesn't nap in the morning anymore, but she will sit in her bed and read books to all of her stuffed animals.  In the afternoon, she sleeps for about 2 or 3 hours while I work or tutor.  Callie goes to bed around 8 and sleeps until 8:30 or 9 (sometimes later) every morning.  We are blessed with a great sleeper!

On March 19, Emma Hart Grupp was born.  We can't wait to meet her!

And then there are the normal day-to-day activities in our house, like being silly...

trying out "big girl underwear"...

making cookies with Mom (and trying to eat all of the cookie dough).  What can I say - she comes by it honestly...

drinking smoothies with Dad (the girl is obsessed with straws)...

cuddling with Aunt LaLa...

watching Veggie Tales with Dad and letting Bear sit on the couch while Mom is not home...

loving on "Mammy" (yes, she really does call me that)...

Veggie Tales Live came to Savannah and we got to take Callie to her first live show.  Sadly, Bryan could not get off work, but Mama D and Aunt LaLa made the trip.

As we waited patiently for the show to start, Callie was her silly self and tried on Mama D's glasses to get some laughs...

About 10 minutes into the show, Callie was sound asleep.  I guess that is what I get for taking her during nap time...

She woke up after intermission though and thoroughly enjoyed the second half...

On the way home, she sang songs for us and showed us her newly learned interpretive dance moves.  She waves her arms around while she is singing and it is hilarious!  Callie must have a flare for the dramatic like her Auntie Em.  She definitely doesn't get any singing or acting ability from me!

Time Flies When You Are Having Fun

So what has this pretty face been up to the past few months?

Here are a few things that kept us busy during January, February, and March...

...wondered why Bear would not play?

...ate lunch at the Yacht Club

...snuggled with Mom on the couch to watch Veggie Tales (a new favorite thing)

...spent hours playing with Bitty Baby and Baby Doll (getting ready for a brother or sister!)

...rode her bus in circles around the house and her bike up and down the street with Daddy

...made tons of silly faces

...became a pro at basketball

...hung out with Brantley (about to have two carseats in the car!)

...discovered new ways to do her hair

...spent lots of time in the swing

...cuddled with Mommy when she was sick with a stomach bug

...went to the dentist for the first time (which she did NOT like)

...started potty training (which we are still working on)

...let Mommy and Daddy go on a few dates

...drove the boat at Hampton Lake (and was only worried about turning up the radio)

...drove to Columbia to spend the day with Auntie Em and Devin

...acquired Mom's love for pizza (and Lovin Spoons)

...read too many books to count

...and spent lots of time outside with friends

It has been a great few months that went by too fast!  Callie is growing up so fast - she is definitely not a baby anymore.  She is talking all the time, although we usually have no idea what she is saying.  She eats anything and everything that we give her.  She is an incredible sleeper!  Callie goes to bed by 8 every night and sleeps in until 8:30 or 9.  She also takes one big nap a day, and is totally content to read books and play with her teddy bear during her other "nap"/"quiet time".  I can't believe she is 20 months old already!

Christmas Times Three

Callie had the joy of experiencing Christmas three times this year!  We went to Hartsville to have Christmas with Big Daddy, Gigi, and Aunt Jamie the weekend before Christmas.  Callie loved opening all of her presents...

She especially loved her Disney Princess jeep.  She figured out very quickly how to push the gas petal and she is a speeder!  However, she still does not know how to steer, so her Daddy has to run along beside her and turn the wheel before she runs into bushes or out into the street!

All of the Coker families and the Nelson families each got together for a big meal.  Callie got to play with lots of aunts, uncles, cousins, and grandparents.

We then headed back to Bluffton to be home for Christmas.  We went to the Christmas Eve service at church...

and then headed out for our annual Christmas Eve dinner...

Callie woke up at her house on Christmas morning and was so excited to see that Santa had come!

The $14 grocery buggy was probably the biggest hit of all the Christmas presents!  You got to love what she decided was her favorite.  Even now (3 months later) she still plays with her buggy several times a day.

Bryan and I got her a tricycle with a handle so we can push her.  She didn't really like it at first, but now she loves to ride her bike to the park.

After we opened presents at our house, we headed to the Island for Paw Paw's french toast and more presents!  By this point, Callie had figured out what was going on and was very excited to open her presents!

Callie loves her Keds....

She got lots of new clothes...

Had some snuggle time with Paw Paw...

And had a great time pushing this toy that Aunt LaLa and Auntie Em gave her!

Merry Christmas!
