One Week Old!

I can't believe Callie is already a week old!  It has been an incredible, joyous, busy, and sleep-deprived week.  We have had tons of visitors - everyone is so excited to meet her!  And both families do not want to miss a minute of her little life.  I am grateful for so much help - especially in the middle of the night. :)

Callie is the most relaxed baby I have ever met.  She rarely cries (only when Daddy tries to give her a bath) and is totally content when she is awake.  She sleeps like a rock - must get that from Aunt Lauren.  We have established a pretty good schedule: Callie eats, is awake for about an hour, and then sleeps for almost two hours.  At night she is sleeping a little longer which is absolutely amazing.  Mama D and Gigi take turns spending the night with us and they stay up with Callie if she is awake so Bryan and I can sleep.

We had Callie's first doctor's appointment on Monday.  Everything was wonderful and she is perfectly healthy, but she had lost a little too much weight.  The doctor suggested giving her a little bottle after each feeding, and when we went for our check-up on Wednesday she had gained 6 ounces!  She is eating a lot better now and we do not have to give her a bottle every time.  She does have a little bit of jaundice, so we lay in her the sun to get a suntan.  (She loves to lay out - just like her mom!)

Callie and I, along with Mama D and Emi, went to church today for PawPaw to show her off and introduce her to everyone.  Of course, she slept through the whole thing.  We also went to Berkeley Hall to visit Daddy and met a few more people.  Today is me and Bryan's anniversary so we are going out to dinner tonight and leaving Callie with Gigi and Jamie!  Big night out!
